From the backseat (the equivalency of being under my new desk)

I probably made my first good decision during my brief career as a new dad tonight.

After celebrating becoming number one with half a bottle of wine and a mai tai (back off. It's summer, and the waitress piqued my curiosity) I decided to hand the keys to my sister in law. But one trip to Target later, I was on diaper duty and relinquished to the backseat for the rest of the trip home.

Now as the kid sleeps with hands overhead and mouth agape - as many in my clan tend to do - and Amy wrapped in raucous dialogue about Dirty Dancing, the backseat feels uncharateristically lonely.

Let's face it. The backseat has its share of stigmas. But replacing Huggies for Trojans? That's an adjustment not easily accepted.
