Working for the man every night and day

Days like yesterday make me realize this is the best gig I have ever had.

Yesterday, I spent my afternoon walking outside under a beautiful, clear sky with my wife and talking to people about a parade consisting of cars and cheerleaders.

Even though I got pelted in the head with a couple of beads -- and my hands went numb once the breeze kicked up -- the fact that I get paid to experience moments like those and then write about it completely overshadowed any qualms about my career choice.

I really like this post... it makes me feel good about my choice in career (well, it will be a career). It was great seeing you the other day! We all miss you up at school. Just thought I'd keep you posted about the Shreveport Times. I e-mailed Rod Richardson and received an e-mail that explained how he doubted that the Times will have the money to pay for a summer intern. He told me to check back later, but he doubts it. Then, he told me some better news to soften the blow, I guess. He told me that I was in his top three and that I have a bright future in the business. So, that was good. Thanks for talking to him for me, by the way. I was also wondering if The Town Talk is looking for an intern this summer, because I'd like to apply. Who should I talk to? Thanks a lot, and have fun doing your job! Tell Amy hi for me.
