Today was a day for work boots.
It kicked off an hour and a half earlier than my other work days -- which means I leave work while restaurants are still open -- at a disaster relief training seminar. There were laundry units, feeding units, mud out units and chainsaw units. Look for next Saturday's "Chainsaws for Jesus" story.
After all of this rain, mud becomes a part of any outdoor story.
Following that event, I raced my Buick over to the coliseum for the Alexandria Kennel Club dog show. The necessity of work boots here should go unspoken.
I returned to the office, answered a strikingly confusing phone call about the Mardi Gras parade routes and an explanation for who I am -- the caller wasn't sure exactly -- and began to write. I might even get to my stories.
Just kidding, any editors that might stumble upon this post.
