I heard this from either my brother who went to Europe this last fall or absorbed it from some random person while probably avoiding thinking about serious things.
In a town somewhere in Britain, the locals have a great way to predict the weather. They say to take a gander at the hills outside the town. If the hills are wet, it is raining. If they are dry, it means there is about to be some rain.
Around here, we can sympathize.
